The Benefits of English for Spanish-speaking People
English is the most widely spoken language in the world. It is spoken by a quarter of the total population and is the most widely used in publications. In fact, there are currently more people learning English than any other language.
English is the language of commerce, diplomacy, computen science and half of the internet. Unfortunately, in Latin America, few students graduate from high school dominating it, which limits their opportunities to participate in a globalized economy.
Some of the countries in the region are making changes to improve English teaching. Colombia had recently reformed public schools and introduced English in pre-school and primary education, and had increased the number of hours of English instruction in secondary schools by 50%.
One of the key challenges is to find teachers who can measure up to this task. In some deparments of Colombia, many teachers of English in public schools do not receive appropriate training.
Despite their advanced knowledge of grammar, most teachers have problems speaking English and understanding the spoken language. The result is that teachers have difficulty to develop in classes whose goal is for students to acquire the ability to speak English fluently.
In other words, the benefits of speaking English are clear and eve scientifically proven (as it is to study any foreign language), but sometimes everyday life leads us or forces to study English without setting ourselves a concise goal.

In conclusion, the benefit of speaking English also depends on the goals you pursue in learning English. Each student has a dream they want to fulfill by speaking English.
